“This is the ultimate blend to drink. How’d you find this place?”
“I first came in because of the name: Serendipity. It’s one of my favorite words.”
“It is? Why?”
“It’s such a nice sounding word for what it means: a fortunate accident.” – Serendipity (2001)
There is nothing accidental about a good restaurant. Delicious food, a creative menu, inventive cocktails, attentive service and inspiring decor must all work harmoniously.
Originally perceived as an upscale ice cream shop, Serendipity3 on Lincoln Road is exponentially more. The spectrum of offerings is as varied as the personalities on South Beach. With drinks alone, they have everything from a Size 0 for our model waifs to their infamous Frrrozen Hot Chocolate (I don’t even want to ask how many cals). The “Don’t Drop Your Skirt Steak Frites” was phenomenal, quite possibly the best steak chimmichuri combo I’ve ever had. Every bite was ever more succulent than the last.
And the Heirloom Tomato Burratta Salad, whoa. Serendipity managed to turn up a notch this restaurant staple.
We must not forget dessert. Pretty full from the meal, mon amie et moi decided to pass on a selection from their Drug Store Sundaes. While they all looked delish coming out to customers while we enjoyed our meal, we thought the Humble Pie might be a tad lighter. EHHHHH, nope. This peanut butter cheesecake was a big hunk of goodness. I could only manage a couple bites of this immaculate conception so my week automatically got better when I realized I’d get some heaven each day.
The whimsical decor makes Serendipity perfect for a romantic date or gabbin with the gals. ** Point to note, none of the wall clocks are on the correct time so don’t head to Serendipity when you’re in a rush. I suggest planning a whole day out at the restaurant. They’ve got an expansive menu that can cover you from bfast to dinner. Trust, you’ll just want to eat, and eat, and eat, and eat.
Note to self: Kate Beckinsale is always right.
